On Saturday 16th May, as part of the Harrow Hong Kong Invitation Weekend, the Drama Department ran a workshop on the use of Trestle Masks.
Our students worked with students from a number of local schools, developing the physical skills required to use the masks effectively, while also making some new friends and establishing some hopefully meaningful connections. It was a great day and we were amazed by how far the students came in such a short time. The collaboration demonstrated was outstanding, particularly considering the size of the age range from which the students came.
At the end of the day, we asked students to create a short performance based on a pair of contrasting words: freedom vs imprisonment, community vs isolation or peace vs conflict. You can watch these performances here:
